|Birth: ||Nov., 1841|
Catherine was the 10th of 11 children of Jacob and Hannah Yerigan.
She married on May 19, 1861, Clinton County, Indiana, to David W. Egner. He was born in August, 1824, in Maryland.
David is listed in census records as a farmer and as a carpenter. He was living in 1900.
They remained in Clinton County, Indiana, and Catherine is listed there as a widow in 1910.
When her daughter Florence was little, she sent her to the general store. When she got there and went in, she said a man was lying on the counter who was very red - he had scarlet fever. The men in the store scooted her out and she went home, obviously exposed. Her two little sisters caught it (Florence did not) and both died. Florence said they were so pretty, one with blonde hair and blue eyes, and one with brown hair and brown eyes and long ringlets and looked like china dolls.
