William Vernon Ferrell

William Vernon Ferrell, 77, of Center Hill community near Linden, Cass Co., TX, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1991, in Atlanta, Texas Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Hanner-Caver Chapel in Linden, Texas with the Rev. Curtis Hall and Karry Easley officiating. Burial was in New Colony Cemetery, near Linden, Texas.
Vernon Ferrell was born around Hughes Springs in Cass County, Texas, June 5, 1913, to John Burl and Annie Eulala (Watkins) Ferrell.
On April 29, 1939, he married A. Estelle (Trumble) at her home near Marietta, Cass Co., TX. They lived in the New Colony area for many years, later after the children were born they moved to Linden, TX, were members of the First Baptist Church, and had his own business.
He was a retired gasoline distributor & service station owner in Linden, TX. He moved to the Center Hill Community in about 1972, later becoming a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were both of his parents, John & Eulala (Watkins) Ferrell; one son, Aaron Rolland Ferrell; one daughter, Eula May Ferrell, and one grandchild, Annette Marie Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle; daughters & sons-in-law, Josephine & Freddie Hall of Linden, TX; Gloria & Jeff Roe of Jefferson, TX; one sister, Lillian Parker of Waskom; six brothers, John Orval Ferrell & Vance Clifton Ferrell, both of Linden; Horace Burl Ferrell of Jonesville; David Ferrell and Harland Oneal Ferrell, both of Longview; and Morris Ferrell of White Oak; four grandchildren, Jo Anna (Hall) Duncan, Vernon Hall, John Roe & Sara Roe; and four great-grandchildren Keith Duncan, Brittany Duncan, Josh Hall & Ashley Hall. Along with many other members of the family and friends.
