James Elroy Allen 58 of Fresno, CA, was born in Springfield, Ohio on April 6, 1949, to Marna and Jim Allen.
Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 through 1972 upon the USS Kittyhawk and at Lemoore Naval Air Station. After the Navy, Jim resided in Fresno and worked for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement.
Jim was a member of Clampus and enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends.
Jim loved life and lived life on his terms and in his way.
The family wishes to give thanks and regards to Jim's friends and neighbors on Holland Avenue, especially Jim Bennett JB, his long time friend; and his Ohio childhood friend and brother-in-law, Joe Burke, and his sister-in-law, Mary Burke.
Jim died at the age of 58 leaving his two children, son, Jeff Allen and his wife Christi and daughter, Jamie Allen Richardson and her husband David; and his four beautiful grandchildren, Madison Allen, Colton James Allen, Adalyn Richardson, and Melody Richardson.
He is also survived by his faithful brother, Robert E. Allen and his wife Lettie of Vacaville, Ca.; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
A Graveside Service for Jim was held at Clovis Cemetery on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception.
