Mrs. Margaret Josephine Bethea Betts, 84, died Friday (August 31, 2007) at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born in Lake City, Florida but had lived in Ware County since 1979. She was the daughter of the late David Virgil Bethea and Ina Rossa Carroll Bethea. Mrs. Bethea was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Her husband, John F. Betts, son, David "Butch" Betts, stepmother, Doris L. Bethea and brothers, Willis, Paul and Carroll Bethea, preceded her in death.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Joan Outhwaite of Brunswick, Brenda Howell (husband Atheal) of Irwinton, Doris Sumner of Waynesville and Marilyn Bennett of Waycross; 5 sons, John F. Betts, Jr. (wife Denise) of Brunswick, Billy Betts (wife Marie) of Jacksonville, FL, Terry Betts (wife Lori) of Atkinson, Jerry Betts of Atkinson and Paul Betts of Manor; 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
