Shirley, 73, of Henderson, Michigan died Saturday, December 24th, 2011 at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.
Funeral Services were held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie Chapel on Wednesday, December 28th with Pastor Herb Wheelock officiating.
Shirley was the daughter of Eugene Forest and Mildred Rae (Smith) Hunt. She graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1956. On June 14, 1958 she married Harvey Coon in Owosso, Michigan. She resided most of her life in Shiawassee County, Michigan.
Shirley was a homemaker and had formerly worked for General Telephone Company and VG 's Market in Owosso, Michigan. She enjoyed crocheting and researching genealogy. She also enjoyed camping and going to her grandchildren's school functions, and she played piano at her church and enjoyed all forms of music and square dancing. Shirley was a 4H leader for sewing classes.
She was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband Harvey Coon of Henderson, MI; son, Jon and Renae Coon of Carsonville, MI; son, James and Marilyn Coon of White Cloud, MI; daughter, Susanne Hickmott of Henderson, MI; son, Jerold and Yulia Coon of Midland, MI; grandchildren, Joshua Coon, Rebecca and Dan Mancilla, Sarah and Jeremy Clymer, Samantha Coon, Jarod Coon, James and Deanne Coon, Tamara and Aaron Sells, Brienna Hickmott, Nikita Coon, 4 great grandchildren, her mother, Mildred Hunt, Owosso, Michigan, 3 brothers Stanley and Karen Hunt, Wayne and Carol Hunt, Richard Hunt.
She was predeceased by her father, Eugene, 2 brothers, Donald and Robert Hunt.
