Served in the 4th Company, Battalion Washington Artillery, Louisiana Artillery. Appointed sergeant in 1861 and later that same year was made second lieutenant. Appointed first lieutenant in 1862.
Worked as a cotton broker.
Survived by a wife and five daughters, one of whom was married Dr. R.A. Murphy.
