Jack F. Yerbey, 80, of Florence, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence. The memorial service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home. David Rushlow is officiating. Mr. Yerbey was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Crawford and Maggie Yerbey; one son, Jerry Yerbey; and a sister, Norma Rhodes. Mr. Yerbey leaves behind a loving wife, Mrs. Frances Yerbey; children, Angela Reathiford (Michael), Brenda Selby (Steve), and Michelle Anduhar (Jeff); three grandchildren, Robin Reathiford Davis, Leah McIntyre and Kyle McIntyre; sisters, Billie Ruth Roberson, Mary Alice Berry, Betty Creasy (Carl), and Carolyn Collier (Bill). He also leaves behind special nieces, Sonya Blackstock, Lafonda Montgomery and Rhonda Baskins. He grew up in the Cloverdale community until he married and joined the Army. He served in the Korean War, where he was wounded in 1953. He received the Purple Heart for his bravery.
