He would ask each costumer how much ice they wanted that day - 2 pounds, 5 pounds, etc. working his way up the building. If he had any ice left after he finished the top floor, he would go to the roof and hop across to the next building and work his way down. He would collect during each ice sale." Death certificate states cause of death as 'accidental fall through skylight'.
