Train-Truck Victim From Brunswick

HORTENSE A Brunswick man whose truck was stopped on the rails at the Georgia Highway 32 grade crossing was killed instantly when a speeding locomotive collided with it early Wednesday morning.

The Georgia State Patrol said Steve Clayton Carver, 59, of Brunswick, failed to move his 2005 GMC Canyon from the tracks as the train approached.

A southbound CSX train with three locomotives and 110 cars slammed into the driver's side door of the truck, said Donna Dismuke,
GSP post secretary, pushing it for a mile before coming to a stop.

Trooper Greg Stone investigated the 2:49 a.m. crash.
