MYRTLE TINSLEY AUSTIN; 1936 - 2013
Myrtle Tinsley Austin, 77, of Hustonville, died Friday, Nov 8, 2013 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born January 6, 1936, in South Fork, Ky. to the late Clarence and Rosettie Yocum Tinsley, she was the widow of the late Arnold Austin. She previously worked for Genesco Inc., McKinney Elementary School, Fort Logan Hospital in the kitchen and as a salesperson for Avon. She was also a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald "Red Dog" Wheeler of Hustonville and Bobby Wheeler of Danville, one daughter, Anita Wilson (Willie) of Hustonville, one sister, Helen Rowland of Hustonville, two grandchildren, Brent and Darren Campbell, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one grandson Larry Joe Wheeler, one brother, Clyde Tinsley, and two sisters, Edna Short and Elsie Rogers.

Funeral service is 2 p. m. Monday, Nov 11, 2013 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel in Stanford. Burial will follow at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in New Salem, Ky.

Visitation is 6 - 9 p. m. Sunday, Nov 10, 2013, at the funeral home.
