Harold was born on June, 18, 1927, in Burt, Iowa and passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2006, in Fresno, California at the age of 79.
Harold served in WWII as an Army Engineer. He married his high school sweetheart, Rose Marie, in 1947 and moved to Caruthers, California. He worked at Valley Nitrogen for years and later became a Real Estate Broker; operating Bates Realty.
Harold is preceded in death by his son Gerald. He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Rose Marie, and their children; Son, Greg Bates and his wife Kathlyn of Seattle, Washington; Daughter, Kathy Rylee and her husband Ron of Bakersfield; Daughter, Barbara Singleton and her husband Dennis of Fresno; Daughter Theresa Lee and her husband Terry of Reedley; eight grandchildren, and two great-
granddaughters. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Janssen of Humbolt, Iowa.
