Dr. Trimble's Funeral Rites at 4 O'clock
Funeral services for Dr. George C. Trimble, 80, prominent East Point physician who died Sunday, April 9, 1944, at the residence, with the Rev. W. A. Duncan and the Rev. E. C. Wilson officiating. Burial was to be in College Park Cemetery. Dr. Trimble spent his entire life in or near Fulton County, having been born and received his early education in the Sandy Springs community. He received his medical education at the Atlanta Medical College and took postgraduate courses in New York hospitals in 1896 and 1906. He was the oldest member of the Fulton County Medical Society, having been affiliated with that group for 50 years. For 50 years he was local surgeon for the Central of Georgia Railway.
From 1896 to 1924 he was physician for Cox College and for a time was physician in charge of Georgia Baptist Orphanage. In 1918 the Government drafted him for medical service at Fort McPherson. Dr. Trimble was an active civic and church leader in East Point for many years and was widely known for his medical services to numerous charitable organizations and industrial plants. He served on the East Point Council and was city physician for a number of years. He was a member of the
First Baptist Church of East Point, a Mason, and a Woodman of the World. In 1900 Dr. Trimble married Miss Evie Shannon of Rico, GA, who died in 1918. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. R. E. Boyle, Jr. with whom he made his home; a son, Harold C. Trimble of Miami; a brother, S. W. Ramsey of East Point; and three grandchildren.
