MIDDLETON, LAURIE JANE BUCK, 95, died May 14, 2003 in Ocala following a long illness. She was born in Apalachicola, FL in 1907 and attended Stetson Academy and University in Deland. She lived most of her life in Putnam County in Pomona Park and Palatka, and was the widow of the late Clyde D. Middleton, Sr. She resided in Mount Dora in the early 1980's and again in the mid 1990's. She was the last survivor in her family of four sisters and two brothers. She was a lifelong activist in civic and church work, including Palatka Garden Club, Woman's Club, PTAs, and church activities of Pilgrim Congregational Church and First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Pi Beta Pi. Mrs. Middleton is survived by her daughter Barbara Harris, Clearwater; sons Clyde Middleton, Jr., Palatka; James, Ocala and Harlow, Mount Dora and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
