Military Figure. He is considered "the forerunner of the American Emancipation" against the Spanish Empire. Known as "The First Universal Venezuelan" and "The most universal American", was a participant of the Independence of the United States, the French Revolution and later of Independence of Venezuela, being the leader of the "Patriotic Side" and Head of the First Republic of Venezuela, as Plenipotentiary Dictator and Supreme Chief of States of Venezuela. He fought on three continents: as Marshal of the French army, Spanish army colonel, colonel of the Russian army and the first commander of the armies of Venezuela. His name is engraved on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, his portrait is in the Palace of Versailles in the "Character Gallery" and his statue appears in the field of Valmy in France. He spent his last months of his life prisoner and died in the Prison of the Four Towers of the Arsenal de la Carraca, in San Fernando de Cadiz, Spain, and his remains were buried in a mass grave and can't be found. (bio by: Errete)
