Chester Earl Maynard, 79, RR 2, died Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Community Hospital in Anderson after an illness of five weeks.
Mr. Maynard was a farmer, and a lifelong resident of this area, born Feb. 21, 1886, in Madison County to Barney and Belle Etchison Maynard.
Surviving are his wife, Edna; a son, Elmer Maynard of Orestes; a step son, Donald Foland of Gas City; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Karl N. Kyle Funeral Home by the Rev. Nutter Hughes. Burial will be in the Park View Cemetery.
Friends will be recieved after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
