Trinh Duong, 63, died June 19, 2011, at home, after battling cancer for eight years. He was born on July 20, 1947, in Nha Trang, Vietnam, to Ban and Ma (Nguyen) Duong. Mr. Duong worked as an assembler for Summit Packaging Systems Inc. for many years. From 1967 to 1970, he was a paratrooper in the artillery unit, then from 1970 to 1975, he became captain and an instructor in the artillery unit for the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. From 1975 to 1980, he was imprisoned in a concentration camp by the North Vietnamese communist government. Family includes his wife of 44 years, Cuc (Thach) of Manchester; a brother, Cau Duong of Nha Trang, Vietnam; a sister, Linh Nguyen of Vancouver, Canada; nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., corner of Union Street. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, 383 Beech St.
