SHARON SUE BARNETT: Sharon had been a resident of the Joplin, Mo. for most of her lifetime. She passed away at the family home following a lengthy illness. She was 60 years of age.
She was a dark-haired beauty, full of fun and with a sweet personality. One afternoon in 1965, a trio of local boys stopped by her house after a joy-ride in a Mustang. Sharon- only 14 years old at the time - came skipping out of the house wearing a polka-dot bikini. This was the first time she ever met her future husband!
Sharon was born June 19, 1951 in Joplin, Missouri. She was a graduate of Carl Junction High School and was a graduate of Missouri Southern State University, with a degree in Radiology. Her life's work was to help the ill to a better, more healthful life. She retired from Freeman Hospital in 2006 from the Radiology Dept. She was a member of the National Registry for Radiology.
Sharon Ireland was wed to Max Barnett September 17, 1971. They were married over 40 years / he survives.
They were the parents of:
SON - Dylan Barnett (Joplin, Mo.)
SON - Skylar Barnett (Joplin, Mo.)
SON - Sander Barnett (w/ Leslie, Webb City, Mo.)
SON - Ricker Barnett, (Springfield, Mo.)
Sharon is also survived by:
MOTHER - Louise Ireland (Joplin, Mo.)
BROTHER - Claude A. Ireland (Charleston, S.C.)
SISTER - Treva Johnson (Overland Park, Kansas)
GRANDSON - Austin Kearney.
Sharon was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was cremated; a memorial will be held at a later date.
