Weatherford, TX - Betty Sue Murray, 62, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11 AM Friday at First United Methodist Church 800 W Fifth St., Fort Worth, TX. Burial 2:00 PM Friday in Perrin Memorial Park, Perrin.
Visitation: 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Fire House Art Center & Gallery, 119 Palo Pinto, Suite 100, Weatherford.
Memorials: The family requests memorials to the Weatherford Art Association, or Tug McGraw Foundation (for brain cancer research), in Glenside, PA.
Betty Sue Murray was born Nov. 20, 1942, in Clarksville. She was a 1961 graduate of Mineral Wells High School.
In 1962 she married Charles Murray in Atlanta, TX. Charles and Betty lived in the Fort Worth area during most of their marriage. Betty worked as an office clerk and manager, spending 15 years as an office manager for Bill Grammer, D.D.S. In 1997 Charles and Betty moved to Lake
Weatherford. Betty loved to sew and do seamstress work. Painting was her passion and she was an award-winning artist. She created many works in the various painting disciplines, but favored oils and watercolor.
She was the president of the Weatherford Art Assocation and a member of the Society of Watercolor Artists, Lake Granbury Art Assocation, and the Mineral Wells Art Association.
Survivors: Husband of 42 years. Charles Murray; son, Kevin Murray and his wife, Joanne, of Fort Worth; daughter, Kim Shannon and her husband, Curt, of Benbrook; mother Nora Lee McCauley; and grandchildren, Whitney and Michael Murray of Keller and Wil and Alana Shannon of
Benbrook.
