J.R. Anderson
PERRYVILLE -John Rufus Anderson, 75, Grant Street, Danville, died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 13, 1922, in Boyle County, he was a son of Rose Roney Anderson, Danville, and the late Willard Anderson. He was a retired nursing assistant at Veterans Administration Hospital, Lexington, an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division, and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Other survivors are his wife, Jewel Peavler Anderson; a daughter, Annette Heffelfinger, Dillsboro, four sons, Johnnie D.Anderson, Tommy Anderson, Kenny Peavler and Monte Anderson, all of Dillsboro; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Revs. Mark Payton and Larry Holbrook. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.
