Son of Nathaniel Holley, Sr. & Jean Ricks; grandson of Unknown Holley's and Isaac II & Sarah (maiden name unknown) Ricks.
Rev Carlos Jones Tyler in his book "Gleanings in the Family Field" Compiled, Edited and Privately Published by Mary-Helen Sears Foxx. Glendale, AZ 1976:
"Warrant #2457 State of NC Auditors Office. Salisbury District July 19, 1786. This is to certify that Nathaniel Holley established his claim and was allowed sum of 40 pounds and 8 shillings. Signed John Auld, Stephen Miller and Thomas C. Chiles. Copied from original.
"There is another warrant #2457 Nathaniel Holley established his claim and was allowed 26 pounds. Sept 6, 1786. Signed Stephen Miller and M. L. Chiles." The above are original records of Revolutionary War.
Married Jane Simmons, before 1742 probably in Bertie Co., NC. Known children:
