He came with his parents to N.E. Ga. and worked on his father's farm. When the farm was sold the family moved to Cleveland, Ga. where he got a job with the Gainesville Midland Railroad. He entered the military during WWII and served 2 years in the Military Railway Service in Berma India. After the military he worked for the Alabama Great Southern Railway in Birmingham. After leaving the R.R. he moved to Athens, Ga. where after several jobs he suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed. After a long stay he died in the Veteran's Hospital in Augusta.
