Ryan Layne Barfuss, a 17-year-old Rupert resident, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Minidoka Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Ryan was born Oct. 10, 1990, in Burley, to Melvin and Rosemary Stark Barfuss. He has lived in Rupert all his life and just completed his junior year at Minico High School, where he was a member of the Reflections singing group and ran cross country. He loved to read and write and wanted to be an author. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has received his Eagle Scout Award.
He is survived by his parents, Melvin and Rosemary Barfuss of Rupert; his four brothers, Dylan (Aimee) Barfuss of Idaho Falls, Laren Barfuss of Paul, Jason (Nicole) Barfuss of Rupert and Kalen Barfuss, currently serving in the Argentina Buenos Aires, West Mission; grandparents, Karl and Joyce Barfuss of Rupert; great-grandmother, Edna Snyder of Rupert; one niece, Grace Barfuss; one nephew, Grant Barfuss; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bertha and Henry Stark; great-grandfather, Glen Synder; and great-grandparents, Roy and May Barfuss.
