Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie B. Hawes, 74, a resident of Danville for over forty years who died at Lake View Hospital Thursday afternoon, following an extended illness, were held from the residence, 1511 N. Walnut Street, at 2:30pm. Burial was at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The deceased was the wife of Albert S.W. Hawes, who died about six years ago. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bodeker [mother's maiden name was Willintina Broaddus], and was born at Covington, KY, 10/13/1852. She was united in marriage to Albert Hawes on 10/11/1877 at Covington and shortly afterward moved to Danville.
The deceased is survived by two children, Alberta and Philip B. Hawes of Danville. Two other children, Fannie and Nellie B., preceded their mother in death. A granddaughter, Nellie Jane Ely, resides in Madison, WI.
