Gangster. Cirofici was a prominent member of Big Jack Zelig’s gang. He and three partners were recruited to murder New York gambler Herman Rosenthal at the behest of NYPD Lt. Charles Becker in July 1912. Cirofici and his partners were all arrested in the aftermath and charged with murder. The resulting trials revealed a tale of police corruption unheard of at the time, and it dominated American news for nearly two years. Convicted of murder, Frank Cirofici and his three partners went to the electric chair at Sing Sing Prison on April 13, 1914
