Actor. He will be best remembered for playing the villainous 'Carl Hutchins' in the daytime TV serial "Another World" (1991 to 1999). He earned an Emmy Award in 1996. Born in London, he performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and moved on to Broadway in the productions of "The House of Atreus" (1968 to 1969) and "The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui" (1968 to 1969). He became familiar to British TV audiences for playing 'James Elliot QC' in the series "Crown Court" (1972 to 1979). Among his film credits include "Awakenings" (1990), "The Body Guard" (1992) and "The Thomas Crown Affair" (1999). He died from cancer.
