Company K - 9th Regiment of Virginia Cavalry

After completing his academic education at the University of Virginia, he graduated in Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1842. Prior to the Civil War he served two terms in the Virginia Legislature. After enlisting with the Cavalry, he was assigned hospital duty. A much esteemed member of the Medical Society of Virginia, he served as Vice-President of the society in 1904 and 1905.
