Lived in Carson, Virginia. (Near Petersburg) Fought in the 14th Virginia Cavalry (according to Ann Peoples, whom I met at the Salem Methodist in Prince George Co. Her friend Catherine Hawkins took us to the home of Roy Cain's sister, Mrs Wright.

Dr. Wm. B. Daniel
Dr. William Benjamin Daniel of Prince George county died at the home of his son, J.W. Daniel, 510 Denny Street, Richmond, Sunday June 12 at 6p.m. He is survived by one sister, Mrs M.F. Wilkinson, of Carson, and his wife, Mrs M.J. Daniel, and six children, Mrs T.A. Mitchell, of Oyster Point; R.M. Daniel, and Mrs T.A. Shands, and Mrs Minta Baugh, of Carson: J.W. Daniel of Richmond and C.C. Daniel of Carson.
Dr. Daniel was born in Prince George county January 14, 1840. He was able to practice his profession until about 10 days ago. He graduated from Virginia Medical college in 1863, immediately beginning his practice in Prince George county. He was captured by the federal soldiers while a scout in the Confederate army and held in Point Lookout prison nearly one year, remaining there until the close of the war. He then returned to his home and resumed the practice of medicine. He has been a member of Shiloh Baptist church since his youth, and was superintendent of the Sunday school for more than 30 years. He served as member of the legislature for two sessions, representing Prince George county and Surrey county. Dr. Daniel had been chairman of the board of supervisors of the county for ten years, and was a member of the Disputanta Lodge A.F.& A.M.
Dr. Daniel was a faithful servant of his people and was loved by all that knew him.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Shiloh Baptist church and the interment will be made in the church cemetery.
