MAUDE Y. BALDRIDGE
Maude Youtsey, who was the daughter of Frank and Anna Youtsey, was born January 24, 1883, on the farm five miles east of Chariton where she grew to womanhood. Early in childhood she accepted the principles of Christianity as her model of life, and led a life of service to others, forgetting herself in her loving service.
On October 23, 1905, she was married to Clyde L. Baldridge, at Promise City, Iowa. Two sons were born to them, Walter G., 19 years of age and in college at Columbia, Mo., and Dorris, 9 years of age. The loving husband, the two sons, the mother, Mrs. Anna Youtsey; two sisters, Mrs. May Aton and Miss Iva Youtsey, of Chariton, survive to mourn her untimely demise.
She departed this life January 3, 1925, at her home in Lineville, Iowa, after a brief illness. She was 42 years, 11 months and 10 days of age. Her tender and unselfish ways won for her the esteem of all whom she met.
Very brief and simple funeral rites were held at the Youtsey residence on Grace Ave., at 3 o'clock, on Sunday afternoon, January 4, Rev. Frank Bean of the Methodist church in Chariton conducted the service, arrangements for which were in the hands of Sam Beardsley, mortician. The remains were interred in the Chariton cemetery.
