Birth: Aug. 30, 1821
Ohio, USA
Death: Nov. 10, 1907
Oregon, USA

Alfred Albert Rogers was born as one of ten children in Trumbull, County, Ohio, to Alvah and Lydia Williams Rogers. He married Mary E. (or A.) Newcomb in May of 1845 at Braceville, Trumbull County, Ohio.

A privately distributed 1958 genealogy states he went west with his bride..., settling in Exter [sic], Green County, Wisconsin, with his bride. He farmed there for 4-5 years, and then moved to Blue Mounds, where he mined lead for a time. He then moved to Wingville, Grant County, where he followed lead mining until 1857. He then moved to Crawford County, where after two years he moved to Scott, where he bought land in section 34 and then lived. It also states he was a civil war veteran (Co B, 33rd Wisc. Vol's.), and that he died at Portland, Oregon, at 86 yr, 2 mo, 10 da. Granddaughter Mildred Lawrence of Monrovia, CA, wrote that he moved to Boscobel, Wisconsin, where he [also] lived. He went to visit a daughter in Portland, where he died of asthma. Descibed as a devout Methodist.

The above note is from Clifford C. Rogers, "Josiah Rogers of Beckett, Mass. / 1749-1831," Manuscript genealogy (typed, with handwritten annotations, perhaps by Barbara V. Clark of The Colony, Texas), 1958, as provided to Jim Rogers of Centennial, Colorado:
