Services for Carl Gordon Gunnarson, 73, was held at Central Lutheran Church, 15th and Cordova, with the Rev. Ronald D. Martinson officiating. A visitation was at Evergreen Memorial Chapel. He died Feb. 13 at Providence Hospital.

Born in Kennedy, Minn., Dec. 8, 1912, he came to Alaska in 1947 from Minneapolis, after his discharge from the U.S. Army where he served in Africa and Italy. He worked from 1955 to 1978 at Fort Richardson as a cabinetmaker. He is was preceded in death by his brother and sister.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Anchorage; three children, Patsy Jackson of Juneau, Gale J. Gunnarson of Anchorage and Peter G. Gunnarson of Anchorage; two grandsons; his sister, Linnea Arhart of Minneapolis; and his brother, Van Gunnarson of Lake Bronson, Minn. The family requests memorial contributions be directed to Central Lutheran Church, 1420 Cordova St., Anchorage, Alaska 99501 or to the charity of the donor's choice. Burial was at Angelus Memorial Park. Arrangements by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
