He was born Dec. 22, 1926 to William Walker Herron and Jewel (Haddock) Herron at Cimarron. He married Mary A. "Dolly" Birzer in 1957 at Cimarron.
He was a graduate of Cimarron High School in 1944. He served in the U.S Army during World War II as a staff sergeant at Japan. In the 1950's he worked for Boeing Aircraft of Wichita and also for Speed King of Dodge City for a couple of years in the 1970's. He spent most of his life farming.
He was a member of the Cimarron United Methodist Church, Cimarron; and was a lifetime member of the Robert Rohrbaugh Post #7818, VFW, Cimarron.
Other survivors include one son, Clark Herrron and wife, Lisa, Cimarron; one sister, Anna Louise Fletcher, Bellevue, Wash.; two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lavon Jantz and Levere Timken.
