Chaplain, 90th pennsylvania infantry. After ministering to the wounded of both sides in the building, the reverend walked out to the front steps of the hospital-church. It was said that he was too slow to surrender and was shot dead by a confederate gun. He had been working tirelessly and simply needed a break.
