He was a World War II U.S. Army Artillery Veteran. He worked as an optician for American Optical Company, Peoria for 45 years, retiring in 1974. He was the oldest active member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, Dunlap, where he served as usher and greeter.
His parents, one brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
