She had three sisters, she being the youngest of the four. One died when a young woman, one Mrs. Robt. Moore of Cedar County, near Tipton, who died a few years ago at about the same age as herself, another Mrs. Richard LaRue, near West Liberty.

He was son of Samuel G White 1799-1860 and Elizabeth Green White
Moved from Ohio to Cedar County Iowa about 1860
James died of disease in the Civil War in 1863 and buried in Tennessee. She applied for and received a pension for his service.
Amanda married Richard S LaRue in 1868
Children: Etta May LaRue Wilkinson Stoner 1872-1933
