He was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Morton, son of Victor and Lourine (Giesel) Schieber. He married Hilda Hohstadt on Sept. 15, 1956, in Morton.
Surviving are his wife, Hilda Schieber, Morton; one daughter, Cynthia Schieber (Mathew Morey), Alexandria, Va.; two grandsons, Benjamin Schieber and Cameron Morey; one step-granddaughter, Kim (Curt) Holderfield; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Taylor and Drew Holderfield; and four brothers, Robert (Jeannette) Schieber, Cypress, Texas; Don (Wanda) Schieber, Morton; Loren (Ann) Schieber, Sun Lakes, Ariz.; and Leon (Ellen) Schieber, Morton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was an Army veteran, serving from 1952 to 1954.
Alyn worked 48 years for Tazewell Publishing Co./Fleming Publishing, retiring in 1997 as vice president of sales and commercial printing.
