The son of the late Charles and Anna Ady, Pvt. Ady was a paratrooper who served with the 376th Parachute Field Artillery, 82nd Airborne and was killed in action during Operation Husky.

He was survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ira Sullins, Mrs. Elmer Kleine and Miss Anna Ady of Collinsville, and three brothers. William Ady of Neenah, Wis., Alexander Ady of St. Louis and Joseph Ady of Coldwater, Michigan.
