Funeral for Mrs. Stafford Was Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Dardis Jewel Myers Stafford of Cedar Bluff were conducted at 2:30 pm Sunday from Griffith Christian Church. Rev. Henry Harned and Rev. Ron Williams officiated. Special music was provided by Mrs. Russell Bird. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery with Calvert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stafford, age 50, died at 12:30 am Saturday morning in Golden Triangle Regional Medical Center in Columbus, as a result of an auto accident. She was born in Webster County to the late William Joseph Myers and the late Rosa Irene Grisham Myers, but had lived most of her life in Clay County. She was a homemaker and a member of Griffith Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Estol Stafford of Cedar Bluff; three daughters, Mrs. Janice Gardner of Mathiston, Miss Sheila Stafford and Miss Sandra Stafford both of Cedar Bluff; three sons, Larry B. Stafford of West Point, Richard V. Stafford and Thomas E. Stafford, both of Cedar Bluff; two granddaughters, Teresa and Edith Stafford of West Point; seven sisters, Mrs. Emmie Malone, Mrs. Arlin McGarity, Mrs. Minrose Mathews all of Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Frances Cash and Mrs. Norma Clardy both of West Point, Mrs. Louise Scott of Huntsville, Ala., and Mrs. Catherine Wactor of Meadeville; and one brother, Billy Myers of Cedar Bluff.
Pallbearers were her nephews, Rocky McGarity, Dan Cash, John McGarity, Darrell Myers, Hugh Johnson and Clarence Wiley, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. J. F. Eckford, Kenneth Morgan, George Leach, J. C. Hatfield, the Griffith Christian Church Adult Sunday School Class, and the staff of the Golden Triangle Medical Center.
The flower Committee was composed of her nieces, Kay Stovall, Rebecca Hemphill, Diane Clardy and Tammy Mathews.
