CHALMUS L. TRAVIS, 60 DIES, FUNERAL HELD MONDAY
Funeral services for Chalmus L. Travis, 60, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Leoni Church of Christ. E.T. Brazzell officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery witht he Woodbury Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Travis, who lived on Highway 70 eight miles east of Woodbury, died Friday at the McMinnville clinic after an illness of four years. He had worked as a truck driver of the state highway department before his illness.
A native of Cannon County, he was a son of Leon and Mary Travis. Mr. Travis wasa member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bertha Travis; six daughters, Mrs. Estelle Dunagan, Mrs. Ruby Cagle, Mrs. Marie Baker and Miss Mary Frances Travis, all of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Hettie Bird of Saline, Mich., and Miss Jean Travis of Woodbury; nine sons, Lee S. Travis of Albuquerque, N.M., Hubert Travis of Detroit, Weldon Travis of Indiana, Leburn and Clois Travis, both of Dallas, Roy Travis of Idaho, Milton Travis of Battle Creek, Mich., and Melvin and Larry Travis, both of Saline, Mich.; three stepdaughters and one stepson; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Alexander of South Bend, Ind., and Mrs. Rebecca Stewart of Edenwold, Tenn., and three brothers, Elmer Travis of Nashville, Andrew Travis of Oregon and Finis Travis of McMinnville, TN.
