Guy Andrew Lasater, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the age of 46. He was born on January 26, 1965, a son of Robert Donald and Patricia Peterson Lasater. Guy was raised in Roy, graduating from Roy High School in 1983. He attended Stevens-Henager College on a Wall Street Scholarship receiving an Associate Degree.

He was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he held several callings. As a Deacon, he was very proud that he was able to serve the sacrament in his wheelchair.

Guy worked for the IRS, Criminal Investigations Unit, and was awarded several awards for his service. He loved reading and computers. He had a fun sense of humor, always concerned of others before himself, while despite infantile muscular atrophy his entire life. Guy was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Guy had impeccable integrity and was very unselfish.

Guy is survived by his mother Patricia, and brothers; Don (Connie) Lasater, Roy, Jeff Lasater, Farr West, Brad (Holly) Lasater, North Ogden, and his pet cat, Terror.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Lasater, grandparents, several uncles, aunts and a niece.

The family would like to give special thanks to all the medical staff on the third floor of the McKay-Dee Hospital, and to Paula Swett, Wendy Christensen, and Nicole Greenwood his care givers. Thanks also to Debbie Swider, Debra Swenson, close friends, Dr. Matthew Weeks, and Emergency Room doctors and nurses.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., in the Farr West Poplar Stake Center, 1745 North 2300 West, Farr West, Utah. A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Monday from 9:30 – 10:40 a.m., prior to services at the church.

Interment in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Guy's motto in life was: "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting…. "Holy Cow. What a ride."
