Capt. Henry Wax "Heinrich Wachs" was born between 1745 and 1747, in Wartenberg. Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, to Johann Philippus Wachs.

He second married Mrs. Catherine (Noll) Keysor on May 1, 1791, in Greenbrier Co., VA. They had no children together.

He is said to have been buried with both wives in Fincastle Presbyterian Church Cemetery, formerly The Church of England Cemetery.
