Jacqueline Barnhardt, died Saturday, August 6, 2011, at home. The funeral was held Thursday at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home, 520 Red Cross St. Burial at Calvary Memorial Cemetery.

Jacqueline Barnhardt was born on February 28, 1955, in Wilmington, North carolina to Rachel Barnhardt and the late William Barnhardt.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Dolly Holmes, Brenda Murphy and Gwendolyn Hargrove.

On Saturday morning August 6, 2011, Jackie was granted her angel wings. Her final days were spent, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones at her home. Jacqueline was educated in the New Hanover County School System. Her passions included love of music and taking pictures. She devoted most of her time caring for others who needed her, even when she wasn't in the best of health.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother Rachel Barnhardt; one brother Eddie Bland; five sisters, Dorothy Waddell, Carol Barnhardt, Angela Turner, Cynthia Barnhardt, Delores Jackson; her dear and caring companion for over twenty years, Robert L. James Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including Mrs. Mary Dudley and family.
