LANCASTER, Wis. -- Florence I. Zenz, 68, of Lancaster, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. John Norder officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, South Lancaster Township. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church. The Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1939, in Eastman, daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Maas) Muntz. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1957. After high school, Florence made Mass bread at St. Dominic Villa in Dubuque.
She married Anthony Zenz on July 31, 1976, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2005. Together they farmed in the Lancaster area.
Florence enjoyed watching the Cubs and the Bears. She loved cooking, canning and crocheting, and collected Cubs memorabilia and elephants. She always enjoyed taking care of kids and dearly loved her grandchildren. She attended all her grandchildren's games and school activities.
Surviving are her mother, Elizabeth Muntz, of Guttenberg, Iowa; seven stepchildren, Diane (Mike) Audetat, Debra (Daniel) McPhail, and James (Robin) Zenz, all of Lancaster, Jerry (Becki) Zenz, of North Fond du Lac, and John Zenz, Paul (Susan) Zenz, and Michael (Jeanne) Zenz, all of Lancaster; 15 grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Margie (Lyle) Smith, of Durango, Iowa, Frank (Nellie) Muntz, of Englewood, Fla., Joan Nauman, Dubuque, Dan (Rose) Muntz, of Sedalia, Mo., Betty (Ron) Gile, of Dubuque, and Joe (Betty) Muntz, of Guttenberg; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joel (Renee) Vesperman and their children, Jared, Jade, and Jena, all of Lancaster.
She also was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Jake Muntz; and her nephew, Billy Muntz.
