Civil War - CO H 26th Mich Inf

Charles A. Cole of Vevay, Ingham Co., enlisted in Company H of the 26th Michigan at Mason on August 13, 1862 at the age of 19. He survived the entire war and mustered out with the regiment at Alexandria, Virginia on June 4, 1865.

He is shown in the 1890 census at Brinton, Isabella, MI with the disability of Rheumatism of 26 years.

1850 census Lansing, Ingham Co., MI show him to be the son of Curtis A and Harriet E. Cole.

Family tree sources show he was the son of Curtis Abijah Cole and Olive Murphy. He married Betsey Luella Baker on December 22, 1883 in Mason, Ingham Co., MI. They were the parents of Sadie, Corrine w., Sarah Viola, George, and Mattie May Cole.
