Birth: 1712
Death: Feb. 22, 1782

born at Kingswinford, Staffordshire, England the six child and fourth son of Elizabeth (Radcliff) and John Badley of Townsend. We do not know as yet to whom he was married, but we do know that he had at least two children John and Elizabeth. His son John was known as John of Townsend to distinguish between the three contemporary cousins named 'John Badley'. The other two being John of Dudley and John of Blowers Green. He received his father's real property by will from his brother Anthony. (bio by: David McJonathan-Swarm)

*this bio is still a work in progress*

*the quotations are all taken from a handwritten copy made at Grasmere, (Westmoreland) Cumbria, England by Louise MacArthur of "Reminiscences of The Badleys" written by cousin Mary, the eldest daughter of Dr. James Payton Badley when she interviewed Uncle Henry, her father's brother, at Insetton and from MEMORIES AND REFLECTIONS by J. H. Badley; London: George Allen & Unwin, 1955.
