Deborah Gifford Hustin was the eldest daughter of Abraham Gifford and Lucy Sherman. In the late fall of 1813, she moved from eastern New York State with her parents and siblings to the area now known as Collins in Erie County, New York. There she was united in marriage with David Hustin about 1821.
Following brothers Humphrey, Joseph, Abraham, and Edward to Huron County, Ohio, Deborah and her family were found living there by 1850. Known child of Deborah Gifford and David Hustin was: Lucy Hustin Eddy. Other possible children of this couple were: John G. Hustin and Samuel Noyes Hustin, who resided in neighboring Gratiot County, Michigan.
