Major League Baseball player who pitched in 15 games for the Washington Senators in 1911-12. Becker was a sergeant in the US Army serving in the ambulance corps during World War I. Charlie Becker threw a pitch called "the battleship sinker" and was known as "the pride of the Navy Yard". (New York Times, April 3, 1912, page 11.)
