PFC Delgado, of Palmdale, California. His family moved from San Diego, California, to Palmdale when he was in high school. A 2004 graduate of Desert Christian High School, George had a unique sense of humor, an adventurous spirit and like having a good time. He had tremendous love for his family and friends, and lit up rooms with his smile. Trying to search for what to do with his life, he was a restless and energetic teenager, he worked for Wal-Mart for awhile then started taking classes at Antelope Valley Community College. He often would go back to his old high school and sit in on classes to see the teaching styles of different teachers. Trying to decide if he wanted to be a teacher or a police officer, he joined the United States Army in May 2007 and found a place he felt he belonged and was proud to be a part of. Home on leave in December, 2007, he was a changed young man, more confident and disciplined. George was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, based at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and was one of four soldiers killed when their vehicle encountered an improvised explosive. He is survived by his mother, Maria Calle; father, Elias Delgado; sister, Cynthia Delgado; brother, Marcos Delgado; grandmother, Isabel Calle; grandfather, Ramon Calle; uncle, Ulises Calle; aunt, Carola Calle; aunt, Anroxa Calle; and uncle, Victor Calle.
