GLEN R. CASAD DIES IN FRESNO
Tragedy struck again in the Casad family when Glen Roy Casad,
32, son of Raleigh Casad of Merced, died Sunday afternoon in
a Fresno hospital of infantile paralysis. Raleigh's elder son,
Clinton, died a number of years ago of the same disease while
on an engineering project in Chile.
Glen and his wife, Lucille, and daughters, Glenda and Brenda,
were on a vacation trip on the July 4th and came through Merced to stop for a visit with the senior Casad. He complained of being tired and upon reaching his home in Fresno was taken ill with his death following.
Born in Merced
Glen was a native of Merced and was graduated from high school here and from Fresno State College. He enlisted in the air corps and served as a lieutenant during World War II. Upon his discharge he took his former position with the Dean Witter and Company in San Francisco and later was transferred to Fresno where he made his home since.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Ivers and Alcorn Mission Chapel.
Glen was a member of the Fresno Elk's Lodge and the American Legion. His home was at 2243 Cambridge Ave., Fresno.
He is survived by his father, Raleigh Casad, and Mrs. Casad, by his wife, Lucille, and daughters Brenda and Glenda. His mother, the late Lillian Casad, died a number of years ago.
