Chief Dorsett was a well-known "Fireman's Fireman". While in route to a multiple alarm fire at Hub Lumber Company located at 5519 Lawndale his Chief's car collided with a civilian passenger car at the intersection of Harrisburg and Linwood. He was to walk his daughter down the aisle to be married later that night. Sadly he never made it.
He was a Houston resident 42 years. Graduate of Jefferson Davis High School. Member Fire Fighters union Local 341. Husband of Glennie L. Dorsett. Father of Barbara Jean Dorsett and Mrs. M. Kemmering. Brother of Mrs. Della O'Neil, Mrs. Sallie Burns, Mrs. Myrtle Goldsmith, Mrs. Fred Boyd, Miss Selma Dorsett,and J. J. Dorsett.
Cause of Death: Injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
