Son of Thomas and Margaret Doniphan Adams of South Carolina. Husband of Emma Eliza Miller Adams.

Service: Forest's Division; Ogden's Regiment, Louisiana Cavalry; appears on roll of prisoners of war surrendered by Lieutenant-General R. Taylor 4 May 1865 and was paroled at Gainesville, Alabama 12 May 1865; Mortuary Warrant lists him as Colonel Earle Adams. He died of pneumonia. Confederate Pension Application; Mortuary Warrant.
